Amanda's Review:

A series with many loyal followers for its alpha males and fun loving heroines, the Wind Dragons MC is one that is easily devoured. Rakes Redemption is the fourth instalment in the series, this book being based around the story of the clubs resident player, Rake and his first love Bailey. It possessed many of the qualities of the first three instalments, with drama, passion, love and a little bit of fun thrown in, plus other traits that make for a rather enjoyable read.

Bailey and Rake, first loves, High school Sweethearts thought they’d spend the rest of their lives together, until a series of events changed everything and their love became resentment.  Seven years later they meet again and the anger from the past again resurfaces, but there is a fine line between love and hate especially when attraction still lingers.

I was hooked from the beginning of this story, with a prologue that showed a depth of love that had me questioning what could go wrong for it to possibly come undone so easily; I had to know more. With an in depth look into both Bailey’s and Rake’s personalities, where their lives were now, memories they looked back on that had shaped them, slowly the secrets started to come out and they were huge.

My heart absolutely broke in some parts, learning about what it took to break such a strong bond and how hard it was for the main characters to move past it. However there were not just tears with this story there was lots of joy as well. I loved Bailey and her friends, they had this awesome relationship where they shared mostly everything with each other and they all knew how to have fun. With nights out and hilarious shenanigans they definitely weren’t sticks in the mud. Although I didn’t laugh as much at Rake’s character I did do a little swooning (when he wasn’t being such a stubborn a**), because man was he all about pleasing his woman. Rake is definitely swoon worthy book boyfriend material.

With every turn of the page there was always something captivating to read, with loveable characters and a storyline that had me wanting to know more. Chantal has done a fabulous job and I look forward to reading more of her works.
